In between are rodeos in Davie, jazz festivals on Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk, the annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and assorted arts and food festivals unfolding throughout Broward County. Each December, Greater Fort Lauderdale takes on added sparkle with stellar festivities tied to the Winterfest Boat Parade.

Just minutes from the shore is Greater Fort Lauderdale's Arts and Entertainment district, home to attractions, shops, restaurants and parks. Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk, a brick-lined promenade along historic New River, leads to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of Discovery and Science with its 3D IMAX Theater, the Museum of Art and Stranahan House -- one-time pioneer trading post and home to the area's first school teacher.
